During our recent Christmas stay at Hostel Pielinen, we found ourselves nestled in the serene Finnish countryside, about 80 km from Joensuu. The warm welcome we received from the owner instantly made us feel at home, which was a lovely touch on a chilly festive evening. Our spacious room, complete with heating, was cozy, and while we had a shared bathroom, it was always clean and tidy. We took advantage of the free Wi-Fi, although it could have been a bit faster. Breakfast was a delightful buffet to start our day, even if it was nothing flashy! The highlight of our time was the sauna - the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring the beautiful surroundings. We also enjoyed some competitive fun with darts and table tennis, adding a playful element to our stay. If you're looking for a friendly, comfortable spot to base your adventures in this stunning area, I'd definitely recommend Hostel Pielinen!
